New Year's Day Attack in New Orleans

On New Year's Day, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a U.S. Army veteran, drove a truck into a crowd in New Orleans' French Quarter, killing 15 people and injuring 30 others. The attack, potentially linked to ISIS as an ISIS flag was found in his vehicle, has prompted extensive investigations by the FBI into potential accomplices and explosive threats. Authorities discovered additional devices near the area and are searching Jabbar's known residences for further evidence. The incident has delayed the city's annual Sugar Bowl, highlighting concerns of ongoing threats. Jabbar, who served in Afghanistan, was killed in a shootout with police.
