A study suggests that muscular strength and physical fitness can nearly halve the risk of mortality in cancer patients, indicating tailored exercise plans could enhance survival. An analysis of data from 47,000 cancer patients revealed that good muscle strength and cardiorespiratory fitness reduced the risk of death significantly, even in advanced cancer stages. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight and regular exercise were found to synergistically decrease cancer risk more effectively than either activity alone. Concurrently, Cancer Research UK is investing in AI tools to enhance early cancer detection, promoting personalized screening based on individual risk profiles.
