Kia Recalls EV9 for Seat Installation Issue

Kia has issued a recall for nearly 23,000 EV9 SUVs in the US due to the improper installation of rear seats potentially missing mounting bolts. The issue, attributed to an error by a single assembly worker, emerged following customer reports of improperly mounted seats in two vehicles. Although initial inspections of 90 EV9s showed no missing bolts, Kia is acting cautiously. The recall affects vehicles built between September 2023 and October 2024, with dealers set to inspect and rectify any bolt issues for free to prevent potential seat detachment in crashes.
