SpaceX plans the seventh flight of its 400-foot-tall Starship rocket from the South Texas launch site on January 13, aiming to unlock critical capabilities for lunar and Martian missions. This flight will attempt novel feats, including deploying mock Starlink satellite payloads, amid a busy week of space activities. The flight also marks usage of the reused Raptor engine and will include an effort to recapture the Super Heavy booster using the launch tower, which failed last November due to communication problems. The upper stage of Starship is set to land in the Indian Ocean after its mission.
